Terms of service

Terms of service

These terms apply between you and The Lithuanian Guide when you use this site. Effective 1 October 2026. By using the site or creating an account you agree to them. How we handle your data is covered separately in the privacy policy.

Guidance, not legal advice

The Lithuanian Guide explains Lithuanian procedures in plain language and links to the official sources it is based on. It is not legal, tax, immigration, medical or financial advice, and it does not replace the authority that decides your case. Rules change; always check the linked official source before you act, especially near a deadline.

The AI assistant

The assistant answers only from our published guides and may still be incomplete or wrong. Check its cited sources before relying on an answer. Do not use it to submit documents, make decisions on your behalf, or share identifiers like passport numbers.

Your account

You need to be at least 16 to create an account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time from your account page. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Things you submit

When you submit a service provider, a listing or any other content, you confirm it is accurate and that you have the right to share it. You keep ownership, and you allow us to display, edit for clarity and remove it. Submissions are reviewed before they appear, and we may reject anything without giving a reason.

Acceptable use

  • No scraping, automated bulk access or attempts to get around rate limits.
  • No attempts to break, probe or overload the service or other people's accounts.
  • No misleading, unlawful, hateful or spam submissions.

Third-party services

The directory and the guides link to providers, government portals and other sites we do not control. Listing a provider is not an endorsement, and any agreement you make with them is between you and them.

Liability

We work to keep the guidance accurate and the site available, but we provide it as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, missed deadlines or decisions made by authorities. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do, and significant changes are announced on the site. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania. Questions go through the contact page.
